Need Hall Plaza Re-Imagined
Demolition Plan LTC 344
In construction course LTC 343, I created a grading plan for a proposed commercial lot with adjacent retention basins for stormwater capture, based on city code. Grading and drainage regulations for surface slopes, building and storefront setbacks, and finished floor elevations were applied in this site’s design.

Site Plan LTC 344
My new design maintains the existing multi-layered effect through elevation changes, while providing more ADA Accessible routes (A) for users, in order to increase the site’s usage. It accentuates the framed, vegetative entry points with green walls leading users into the site. It also includes more shaded, raised seating walls with either natural/tree shade, and/or structural, wood trellis shade, filling the seating void in the plaza.

Planting Plan LTC 344
The proposed native planting plan protects the existing large trees in place, while providing accent shrubs, perennials and vines that add to the shape, color and character of the plaza and its smaller ‘rooms.’ More trees are to be planted to provide a good balance of shaded and sunny areas to congregate, based on the whether and time of year.
